UF Sketchdump (Castor, Verus, Laundry Files)

Description

Another random urban fantasy character sketchdump.

--Top left three images: from Charles Stross' Laundry Files, specifically, from the book The Jennifer Morgue. The girl on the very left is Mo with her violin. The middle is Bob Howard, computational demonologist, dressed up as not-quite-James-Bond and holding his weapon of choice: the iPhone. The creature on the right is Ramona Random, Lovecraftian creature from the deep. The four breasts are (unfortunately) canon; the bikini is not, but I like to keep my fanart G-rated :)

--Top right image: Another pic of Felix "Fix" Castor from Mike Carey's series, from before I realized that his "flute" is a whistle, not a recorder, and also before I realized he was a short, scrappy, Liverpudlian.

--Bottom: an attempt to figure out what Alex Verus from Benedict Jacka's series looks like. My problem is that by the book's description, Alex is basically a slightly shorter clone of Harry Dresden; I decided to differentiate them by giving Alex a "ski-jump" nose. The rightmost face is what I think I've decided on. They're a little ragged because they were drawn on lined paper and I removed the lines with Gimp. The knocked out pic of him in the corner comes from me imagining what I would like Alex's sidekick to do to him when he repeatedly calls her "good girl."

Update: coloured version of Alex Verus pic is here; coloured version of Bob Howard is here.

As usual, since this is yet more fanart, I own no rights to these characters. Mike Carey owns the rights to Fix Castor, Charles Stross owns the rights to Bob Howard and his crew, and Benedict Jacka owns the rights to Alex Verus

I did compare the endings of the two books as you said. Not very similar at all, except in the most superficial way. The Dresden Files is clearly was setting it up for the future in a very different way, the LF is doing something al together different. Kind of like saying books with love triangles are similar.
